Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate today, 30th May 2012, a new office of income tax department at the tallest building in the national capital Delhi.
Spread over 12 acres, the new building, called “Pratyaksh Kar Bhawan”, will house the offices of salary charges, non-corporate charges, international taxation, exemption and other allied charges, accommodating nearly 800 officers and 1,500 staffs, the finance ministry said in a statement.
It is the tallest building in Delhi and the biggest office of the income tax department. The built up area and carpet area of the said building are approximately 52,000 square metre and 29,000 square metre respectively. There is a service block of approximately 2750 square metre and approximately 39,000 sq. metre parking space. This space is made up of one partitioned 28 storeyed Tower Block (E) and two six storeyed Blocks (B and D) with three level basement parking having escalators, service and passenger elevators and DG Sets for 100 percent power back up. The campus is spread over more than 12 acres. This new building helps Income Tax department to overcome space shortage.
