Gone are the days when Maruti Suzuki cars were plain boxes, The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza marks the country’s largest carmaker’s entry into the highly-competitive sub-compact SUV segment. The Vitara Brezza is also the first product from Maruti that has been entirely developed in India by its in-house R&D team.
Scheduled to be launched in March, the Maruti Vitara Brezza will only come in diesel trim and will be offered in a total of six variants – LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+. What’s more is that the Brezza can be customised with three options – Glamour, Urban and Sporty – depending on a customer’s personal preference.
The car is likely to cost anywhere between Rs 7 and Rs 10 lakhs. At this price, it will lock horns with products like Mahindra TUV300, Ford EcoSport. Unlike the S-Cross crossover and Baleno premium hatchback.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be available only with the 1.3-litre diesel engine as of now, while a petrol engine will be added later in 2016.
Maruti has promised to have driver-side airbag as standard across all variants. Other list of features – subject to variants – will include Bluetooth-enabled audio system, speed sensitive door locks, etc.
